Slim Thug Donates 1,000 Bottles of Hand Sanitizer to Houston Bus Drivers, Police Officers

The Houston MC revealed his own COVID-19 diagnosis two weeks ago.

In the last few weeks, many celebrities have donated money and supplies to support workers in the coronavirus pandemic. On Wednesday, a celebrity who's also recently contracted the virus stepped up to do the same.

Slim Thug announced he'd contracted the virus two weeks ago. On Wednesday, he announced he'd be donating 1,000 bottles of hand sanitizer to Houston's police department and bus drivers.

"I want our police officers and bus drivers to know that we appreciate their service during this tough time," he told Houston's ABC-13. "They have always been a large part of keeping Houston going." At the time, Slim stated that he has never suffered severe symptoms from the virus.

Baby Bash and Slim's relief team Smoke Shield plan to donate an additional 1,000 bottles by April 15. Fellow Houston rapper Scarface also tested positive for the virus in recent weeks. The diagnosis came after months of treatment and two tests.

"It started off with pneumonia in both of my lungs and three or four days later my kidneys failed," Scarface said in an interview with fellow Geto Boys member Willie D. "Three or four days after that they tell me I can't move, I'm quarantined. I gotta wait until this subsides so I can see what's going on with my kidneys now.
