Superman Gets A New Look in the New Snyder Cut 'Justice League' Trailer
The Snyder Cut trailer features all-new Superman scenes.
After years of anticipation, the Zack Snyder Cut version of Justice League is set to hit HBO Max next year. Currently, the original film's three-year anniversary is nearing closer, and on Tuesday, Snyder released a new, gloomy black-and-white trailer for the upcoming mini-series.
For years, DC Comics fans have been pining for the release of Snyder's original vision of the film. After the death of his daughter, Snyder left the film during post-production and Joss Whedon took over directorial duties. The finished product was overwhelmingly panned upon its release.
The trailer features better looks at Henry Cavill's Superman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, the movie's villain Darkseid and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta. In one scene, Superman appears via hologram as the rest of the team looks on. Most of the footage has been seen in previous trailers, however the new cut looks to rework Superman's story arc. In the previous version, Darkseid was removed entirely.
A tense moment occurs in the trailer as Darkseid is seen controlling three mother boxes, fictional objects that can give their wielders the power to teleport, manipulate energy, and heal the injured.
Back in August, Snyder revealed the new Justice League cut will be released in four hour-long installments. Though he didn't officially refer to the new project as a miniseries, the extended release format will make it a more easily-digestible watch for fans.
Zack Snyder's Justice League is set to hit HBO Max in 2021. Stay tuned for further updates about a specific release date.
