Why is Coolio's "Gangsta Paradise" Playing in the Terrible 'Sonic The Hedgehog' Trailer?
Sonic livin' in a gangsta's paradise.
On Tuesday (April 30th) Paramount Pictures released the first trailer for its live-action Sonic The Hedgehog movie. If you don't know, Sonic is a legendary video game character, and for some reason suits at Paramount decided to resurrect this Sega IP.

The movie stars Jim Carrey, playing a slimmed down version of Sonic's nemesis Doctor Robotnik, James Marsden, and Tika Sumpter. Voicing Sonic Ben Schwartz.
And that skepticism was seen all over Twitter after the trailer was released:

The most baffling things about the trailer, however, is the song choice used for the trailer. For some reason, Coolio's mid-'90s smash hit "Gangsta Paradise" — which was on the Dangerous Minds soundtrack — was featured throughout the trailer:
"C U When U Get There" would have probably been a better song choice.
