Watch Stevie Wonder Call in to Questlove's All-Stevie Wonder DJ Set

Stevie plans to challenge someone in the near future.

As nationwide shelter-in-place orders are continuously announced, DJs are bringing the party to your phone. Questlove joined the party in the past couple of weeks, spinning a multi-hour Native Tongues tribute set.

On Wednesday, Quest uploaded a Stevie Wonder tribute set for "Stevland Saturdays." The mix is special enough, but this time around was different. While spinning The Reflex's remix of Stevie's track "I Wish," he received a call.

"Who's speaking?" he asked. After a bit of confusion, Quest eventually noticed what was up. "I think I'm doing fine, Mr. Morris," he said, obviously amused. After exchanging salutations, Stevie appears to let Quest in on a little secret. He put Wonder on speakerphone so the audience had a chance to hear for themselves.

"Hey everybody," Stevie said cheerfully. "I love you...I'm planning to do something very different. I'm going to challenge someone to be a part of my life forever. They'll understand it better when I do it. I'll be doing it pretty soon."

Could we see a potential live broadcast from Stevie? New Jack Swing pioneers Teddy Riley and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds are already scheduled to do battle on Instagram this coming Sunday.

Touring schedules worldwide have been affected by the coronavirus. With little else to do, musicians are taking it upon themselves to keep the public entertained. Stay tuned for more updates.
