Knxwledge Has Finally Released His Official Sophomore Album '1988'
Los Angeles-based producer Knxwledge has finally released his sophomore album, 1988.
Over the last five years, producer Knxwledge has released dozens of mixtapes and projects (including a number of odes to Meek Mill and an excellent collaborative album with Anderson .Paak.) He has also done production for a number of artists, from Kendrick Lamar to Earl Sweatshirt to Action Bronson. But he hadn't released an official follow up to his 2015 debut Hud Dreems.
That changes today. Knxwledge has released his official follow up, 1988, which is led by singles like “don’t be afraid,” “[bc] tm’s not promised,” “learn” and “howtokope.” (The album is named 1988 because that was the year Knxwledge was born.)
This album features appearances from Durand Bernarr and Anderson .Paak. (This album wouldn't be right without a proper NxWorries reunion, which occurs on “Itkanbe[Sonice].”)
One of the cool things about this album is the tracklisting. If you put the tracklisting together you get a message from the producer:
Don’t be afraid. Because tomorrow’s not promised. Do you. That’s all we can do. Listen; learn how to cope with reality. You only get one, so live life. Be safe. Watch who you call your homie. They come and go. Don’t gotta be gangsta all the time. Believe me; it can be so nice. Make use of the time. Make it live forever. A woman’s life is love. A man’s love is life. Keep on minding my business.
