Summer Walker Releases Reflective Visual For Single "Body"
After a bit of a hiatus, Summer Walker returns to unveil a video for her ethereal single "Body" shot in Calabasas and Malibu.
Summer Walker has dropped a visual for her single “Body” off of her critically acclaimed album Over It.
The visual directed by Lacey Duke features Walker alone reflecting. There are nods to body-positivity throughout the clip which sees the R&B singer clutching her growing pregnant stomach. Aesthetically, the clip is tranquil and epitomizes Walker walking into her future life as a mother. Dukes has previously worked on Summer's videos for "CPR," "Come Thru" and her breakout hit "Girls Need Love."
Filmed on location in Calabasas and Malibu, Dukes captures Walker’s aura. Rather than appearing with a beau, the clip centers on the singer’s grace, poise, and ability to command attention with her ephemeral vocals.
“Body” was a standout on Over It that proved to be an essential listen on the release. It set the stage for the tracks that followed it and the overall vibe of the album. Most recently, Walker announced her new label imprint, Ghetto Earth Records, and her new signee, NO1-NOAH. She launched the imprint as a means of sharing her expertise while supporting artists.
Beyond her newly inked business deal, the songstress also interviewed one of her idols before 2020 wrapped, Erykah Badu. For Rolling Stone, the two spoke at length about aliens, their music, and stardom.
