Auto-tune-less T-Pain Sounds Shockingly Good On NPR's 'Tiny Desk Concert'
I know what you're thinking: nobody wants to hear T-Pain's voice with or without his magic box. However, on a recent stop to NPR's Tiny Desk Concert venue the lover of strippers and club anthems freak his hits, leaving all manufactured clutter to the side and posting up for an a cappella romp through his catalogue with a lone keyboard accompanying. And I tell ya, it wasn't even close to unbearable. I'd say the millennial music consumer will be shocked to find out that the man who introduced the world to the conventions of auto-tune could actually sing and pretty damn well for that matter, not to mention, carry himself with humility and poise the whole way through. So go figure. Watch T-Pain run through the hits in his real voice on NPR's Tiny Desk Concert below and join us in crossing fingers for the all-out death of the autotune.
