Telfar is Selling a Bunch of Bags at Rainbow in Brooklyn For a NYFW Takeover Sale
On Sunday, Telfar will be holding shop at Rainbow in downtown Brooklyn with thousands of bags for a one day only sale.
The Telfartakeover is upon us. On Wednesday, (September 7) the Telfar Clemens-owned fashion company announced that, on the final day of New York Fashion Week, it would be holding a one day only sale at Rainbow in downtown Brooklyn. On Sunday, September 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, lucky shoppers can grab up to five shopping bags in any size or color. But arrive in advance – the line opens at 3 PM.
On Instagram, the company listed their rules for the pop-up shop:
"DON'T HURT ANYONE. DO GET YOUR BAG," the caption reads. "SHOPPING BAGS ONLY. No circle bags, no duffle bags, no collab bags – sorry!"
The event will be be hosted by Telfar and TELFAR TV hosts, with footage expected to premiere at a later date.
The "Bushwick Birkin" was last given a nod on "Summer Renaissance," Beyoncé's final track on her seventh album Reniassance. In August, Beyoncé gave Telfar another shoutout on "Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)," which heavily sampled Madonna's 1990 hit "Vogue." Upon the July 29 release of Renaissance, Telfar received a 85% spike in views on resale website The RealReal.
Along with Martine Rose and Grace Wales Bonner, Clemens is currently in the running to be Virgil Abloh's successor as Louis Vuitton's new creative director. The announcement was first reported by The Business of Fashion, and the final decision for which designer will succeed Abloh will arrive “within weeks.”
