The Hamiltones Bring Gospel To The Birdman v. Breakfast Club w/ Their Newest Clip "Respeck"
While on the tour bus, The Hamiltones created a gospel rendition of the Birdman quotables from his recent interview on The Breakfast Club.
Oh. Lord. Anthony Hamilton's vocal back up squad, the brilliant and versatile trio called The Hamiltones created a gospel rendition of the Birdman quotables from his recent interview on The Breakfast Club, bringing to the meme around the Cash Money co-founder's aggro intervention of a non-interview with hosts Angela Yee, DJ Envy and of course Charlamagne The God the very same goose-bumps inducing gospel chops they put on their Drake and 2 Chainz a cappella covers.
What can you really say about this video except "thank you"...? If the definition of grace is love and mercy that is not earned or deserved but just given, the this song is grace at it's most amazing. Like the most brilliant examples of musical comedy, the hilarity here works because the song is so damn good. The Hamiltones took a Birdman meme and elevated it to Impressions - "We're A Winner"/"It's Alright" levels of the musically sublime. And what is gospel for if not to uplift and bring unlooked-for joy to a week that was threatening to get you down, after all? Don't think upon it too deeply, kids. Just watch below The Hamiltones (that's 2E, J. Vito, and Tony Lelo, from left to right) kill it R.I.P. dead below via Okayplayer's YouTube channel and when you speak of Anthony Hamilton and The Hamiltones, please spell their names correct: R-E-S-P-E-C-K.
