'The Midnight Miracle' Returns For Season No. 2
Season two of Luminary podcast The Midnight Miracle has began, with Dave Chappelle, Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli returning as hosts.
Fresh off their appearance on Saturday Night Live, Dave Chappelle and Black Star members Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli have returned to The Midnight Miracle. On Sunday night (December 18), Chappelle made an appearance during Chris Rock's stand-up show at Los Angeles' Kia Forum, announcing season two of the Luminary podcast.
The new season's inaugural episode “A Magnificent Day for an Exorcism” is available on the Luminary channel of Apple Podcasts and the Luminary website. The coming episodes, which feature recordings from Yellow Springs, Ohio and live audience sessions in London and Amsterdam while Chappelle was on tour with Chris Rock, will drop in early January and continue through spring 2023.
The second season of The Midnight Miracle also follows the release of the first vinyl-edition of the podcast, on a limited edition blue-on-blue swirl record. The Midnight Miracle originally began recording in 2020 when Chappelle hosted his Summer Camp shows in Yellow Springs. Earlier this year, Black Star released their long-awaited sophomore album, No Fear of Time.
“The Midnight Miracle is a true audio masterpiece led by Dave Chappelle, Talib Kweli, and yasiin bey. They represent some of the most thoughtful voices of our generation and together deliver a forum that addresses the world as it’s happening today, with nuance and grace,” said Rishi Malhotra, CEO of Luminary. “The Miracle is a place where conversation, debate, music, and tone come together.
