Things Get Gory in the First 'The Boys' Season Three Trailer
Amazon has dropped the season three trailer of superhero series The Boys, where Homelander, Billy Butcher and Hughie get into more mayhem.
The Boys are back. Renewed for a third season on Amazon, the season three trailer follows Homelander (Antony Starr) after his relationship with Stormfront (Aya Cash) has ended. Despite Homelander saving face while on an apology tour, his superhero crew notice something is off: “There’s something wrong with Homelander, there’s something broken. He’s lost his fuckin' mind,” Starlight, played by Erin Moriarty says in the trailer.
“I am very excited for everyone to meet the real me,” Homelander proclaims through clenched teeth, while the trailer teases a new formula where civilians can turn into a superhero for 24 hours.
While Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie (Jack Quaid), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) and Mother's Milk (Laz Alonzo), season three of The Boys also introduces new member Solider Boy (Jensen Ackles).
During South by Southwest in March, a scene from The Boys was previewed and Urban teased what surprises were to come in the new season, per The Hollywood Reporter. “I promise you have never seen anything like it in the history of cinema. “We went bigger this season. It’s a fun, intense roller-coaster ride," he said.
“[The scene is] in the first 10 minutes,” showrunner Eric Kripke added. “It’s not just the craziest thing we’ve done, I think it’s the craziest thing anybody has ever done.”
The Boys returns to Amazon Prime on Friday, June 3, with new episodes airing weekly.
