Rising Brooklyn-based Nigerian American rapper Thutmose and German-Trini singer NoMBe joined forces to give us an end-of-summer anthem.
The Th3rd Brain label mates just released a new video for their track "Summer's Gone" off their recently released collaborative EP, Run Wild.“Run
Wild” - the title track of this EP, was also the theme song of the EA Sports FIFA World Cup Game.
Although the project stands to fuse their respective sounds, for the self-proclaimed genre-less NoMBe, it was simply a sonic exercise. “I come from producing hip-hop originally, so it was actually more like going back to my comfort zone.” stated NoMBe. As Thutmose recalled, “I haven't heard anything like this. The fact that we are smashing two genres together is a special moment.
But what they both share is the wonder and adventure to explore their art thats encapsulated in the track. “With NoMBe, he pushes me to be edgier, fun and to write psychedelic lyrics.” Thutmose said. NoMBe attested, “Thutmose is a rockstar and from working on our first single Summer’s Gone onward, I realized that this could be a real sound.”
With "Summer's Gone" the two breakout artists mix the best of both their musical worlds and forecast what's to come.
