Watch Tyler, The Creator Play With A Band For His First-Ever 'Tiny Desk Concert' Performance
Tyler, the Creator arguably has now given us the best Tiny Desk performance of the year.

NPR revealed Tyler's Tiny Desk Concert Monday morning, noting the fact that this was not only the artist's first time doing a concert but the first time a Tiny Desk performance was done at night. The reason why the show was done at night was for Tyler and his team, who wanted to light the stage themselves for the performance. Needless to say, it is a beautiful short set, as Tyler and his band go through "Boredom," "See You Again," and "Glitter," and are bathed in shades of fuchsia, orange, and blue during the concert.
But it doesn't just end there. After the performance Tyler and his band briefly discuss where they're from and even joke around with the audience.
Earlier this year we wrote about young black creatives such as Donald Glover and Tyler building their own worlds.
"The beauty of the worlds Glover and Tyler have created is that it also feels safe to people that relate to them, especially black people," our very own Elijah Watson writes. "Whether it's Glover allowing Atlanta‘s Darius (brilliantly portrayed by Lakeith Stanfield) to simply exist and distort ideas of black weirdness or Tyler changing the skin color of The Jellies‘ Cornell Jelly from white to black, the two control and provide these safe spaces that take both themselves and their fans out of the harshness of the real world for a bit...They’re living proof of the importance of giving black creatives the control and freedom they deserve to manifest their ideas into reality and build worlds that we’ve never seen before and inspire the next generation of multidisciplinary black creatives to do the same."
