U-God Announces New Memoir 'RAW: My Journey Into The Wu-Tang Clan'

Though he won’t appear on the upcoming Wu-Tang Clan compilation, U-God's pen hasn't stopped, it's only refocused.

Today, the founding member of the group has announced a new memoir, RAW: My Journey Into The Wu-Tang Clan. Slated for a March 2018 release, the book promises deep dives into his origins along with those formative moments for the group. In a short excerpt from the book, U-God states:
It’s time to write down not only my legacy but also the story of nine dirt-bomb street thugs who took our everyday life—scrappin’ and hustlin’ and tryin’ to survive in the urban jungle of New York City—and turned that into something bigger than what we could possibly imagine, something that took us out of the projects for good, which was the only thing we all wanted in the first place.
Last year, the rapper filed suit against the members of Wu-Tang, claiming that he hadn't received royalties for over five years and that he had never been paid his part for the sale of Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, the 1-of-1 album sold to high bidder and real-life supervillain, Martin Shkreli, the authenticity of which has recently been questioned after being sold for nearly half the original auction price on eBay.
