Victoria Monét & Buju Banton Get Spicy In “Party Girls” Video
Victoria Monét and Buju Banton take it to the dance hall in the new “Party Girls” music video.
Let’s hear it for the “Party Girls.” On Wednesday (May 10), Victoria Monét dropped the latest single, "Party Girls," which features Jamaican dancehall icon Buju Banton. The song will be on her long-awaited project Jaguar II. The song follow’s Monét previous single “Smoke” featuring Lucky Daye and last year’s “Coastin’.”
Produced by D’Mile, Yonatan “SDTRK” Ayal and Dready, “Party Girls” is an instant summertime anthem, with the accompanying Meji Alabi-directed music video having a heavy Jamaican dancehall aesthetic.
"Party Girls is an ode to women around the world who keep celebrations alive!” Monét said in a press statement. “If you recall any social gathering, nightlife extravaganza or day party you’ll likely recall a moment where a woman made it so much more exciting! I wanted to make a song giving credit where it’s due, while simultaneously curating a sensual Caribbean-infused R&B song to continue the fun to. I hope this song makes you feel sexy, empowered and appreciated!"

Monét’s 2020 project Jaguar featured Khalid and SG Lewis (“Experience”), with Kehlani appearing on the remix to “Touch Me.” That winter, a Christmas version of the EP would come to streaming services, titled A Jaguar Christmas: The Orchestral Arrangements with reworks of songs “Moment,” “Big Boss” and “Dive.” In 2022, Monét performed a live session of the original EP exclusively online.
The year prior, Monét gave birth to her first daughter, Hazel Gaines, who surprised audience members during the singer-songwriter’s first headlining show in Los Angeles in March.
