Video Shows Ohio Cop Stomp On Handcuffed Black Man's Head
Two recent videos of police brutality have surfaced. One, which was released this past Saturday, shows Colombus, Ohio, cop Zachary Rosen stomping on the head of Demarco Anderson.
The video, taken by a bystander, shows Anderson already detained as he lays on the ground. Rosen then charges into the frame from the left and proceeds stomp his foot on Anderson's skull, while several other police officers look on.
Following the incident, the Colombus Police Department issued a statement saying "Officer Zachary Rosen is under investigation for his actions that took place involving a suspect under arrest on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Officer Rosen has been reassigned to a non-patrol duty indefinitely."
The other one, which was released on Monday, shows a Sacramento cop slamming a black man to the ground and beating him, all because of an alleged case of jaywalking.
The video, taken by bystander Naomi Montaie in her car, shows the officer confronting Nandi Cain Jr., as he crosses an intersection. After some words are exchanged the officer proceeds to throw Cain to the ground and begins to punch him in the head.
In the video, you can hear Montaie screaming at the officer and his handling of Cain. "Oh my God! Why'd you take him down like that? No! That was wrong," Montaie says.
In a statement, the Sacramento Police Department said the officer originally "attempted to detain a pedestrian for allegedly unlawfully crossing the street."
The statement then goes on to say how Cain "questioned the officer's validity to stop him at which time a violent encounter occurred between the officer and the pedestrian," ultimately resulting in the altercation that occurred.
"I thought I was going to be like the next Trayvon Martin," Cain said to KCRA. "I felt like they were going to draw a gun out and shoot me in my back or try to break my arms off or something.
"It was supposedly for jaywalking," Cain said in regards to the initial arrest. "And then, when they put me in handcuffs and they were driving off, I heard them (talk) about they were going to get me for resisting arrest. But as you can see on the video clearly, I didn't resist at all."
