Set in a slightly-dystopian future city that marries the best of Tokyo and New York, the show centers on the romantic and supernatural trials and tribulations of adolescent "magistocrat," Kaz Kaan (portrayed by Jaden Smith) as he wades through heartbreak and demons in a city once liberated by elders of his superpowered bloodline. It's an ode to classic anime series, according to a press release, and looks the part. The trailer also features appearances from co-stars Jude Law, Susan Sarandon and Joel Martinez (better known to most as The Kid Mero, of VICELAND's Desus & Mero,) with Willow Smith, Steve Buscemi and others slated to make cameos and fill out the cast.
