A Trio of Planet-Jumping Bounty Hunters Assembles in The Official Trailer for Netflix's Live-Action 'Cowboy Bebop' Series
The live-action Cowboy Bebop adaptation premieres November 19th on Netflix.
Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for a much-anticipated live-action take on the classic anime series, Cowboy Bebop.
Following a grip of teasers and early glimpses at the show, our latest look at Spike & Co. charts the trio's formation from competing bounty hunters to planet-jumping ensemble. Scored, of course, by Yoko Kanno's iconic theme for the show, John Cho's Spiegel takes center stage, reluctantly assembling his team as they board and almost bond on the Bebop in a proper trailer for the series, released today by Netflix.
The trailer arrives as the most recent preview in a pretty aggressive campaign to win over fans of the heralded animated series. It follows the release of the show's opening credit sequence and what appears to have been a mini-episode in the "Lost Session." But with Cowboy Bebop creator, Shinichirō Watanabe, serving as a producer and consultant on the series, fans can be sure Netflix is at least trying to handle this with the care it deserves. And hell, even if they do fumble this, the original anime is right there as a solid contingency (palette cleanser?) Debuting in 1998 in Japan and in 2001 stateside as the first anime on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block, Cowboy Bebop ran for 26 episodes and is widely regarded as a classic. Kanno's soundtrack for the series has been commensurately applauded. After years of circulating as a coveted bootleg, the score received its first official vinyl release last year with a number of limited edition variant pressings.
