The project was initially scheduled to be released on Friday, December 9th. Better late than never. The project was produced by Sheppardand recorded in South Africa. Bey's last album was 2009's The Ecstatic, which was released under Bey's previous nameMos Def. Dec. 99th, in the lead-up to the release of their project dropped the tracks “N.A.W.,”“Local Time,”“Tall Sleeves,” “Seaside Panic Room,” and the song “Hymn,” which didn't make the album. News that Bey will be releasing two other projects, his final act as a musician (he's retiring from the recording game), have also come out. First there's the OMFGODproject with Mannie Fresh that was initially teased back in 2012 with a website and video of the pair working in the studio. Though the name OMFGODBKNOLA was teased the collaborative album's tentative name has fittingly been changed to As Promised. Then there's the mysterious project Negus In Natural Person. Both upcoming projects will be teased by Yasiin Bey at his upcoming performance at the The Apollo on December 21. Scroll down to peep Bey's tour dates and stay tuned for those two other albums.
