The artists you see pictured above were part of a wave in making soulful sounds, genius albums and redefining hip-hop and cemented their legacies as true innovators. All this is why today, Mar. 22, is a cause to celebrate as Jamal Gray and the multimedia arts collective, CMPVTR CLVB, are celebrating the Okayfuture-esque group in a free concert titled The Soulquarians: D.C. Pays Tribute to Common.
Livestreamed on Okayplayer.com at 5:30 p.m. EST, the event will honor the cultural impact and influences of this early 2000s group, which comprised of artists such as Erykah Badu, Q-Tip, The Roots, J Dilla, Bilal, Common and more.
