Watch The Official Trailer for The Long-Awaited 'House Party' Reboot
Starring Jacob Latimore and Tosin Cole, the Calmatic-directed House Party remake will premiere in theaters in January.
An official trailer for the long-awaitedHouse Party reboot has arrived. And it's headed to LeBron James' mansion.
The red band preview offers a first glimpse at the Calmatic-directed recalibration of the 1990 comedy. It stars Jacob Latimore and Tosin Cole and features a script from Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori (Atlanta), centering on a pair of club promoters who are given the task of cleaning LeBron James home and wind up haphazardly deciding to throw a massive party at James' mansion. “You are one handsome m***********,” James' hologram in the trailer for the film, which is produced by James and Maverick Carter's Springhill Company.
The film co-stars DC Young Fly, Melvin Gregg, Karen Obilom, Rotimi and will feature cameo appearances from Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi, Snoop Dogg, Lena Waithe and, of course, House Party OGs, Christopher "Kid" Reid and Christopher "Play" Martin.
Calmatic, who's also set to direct the White Men Can't Jump reboot starring Jack Harlow, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the new version of House Party.
"I want the audience to be open-minded when it comes to these classic titles, and I want them to look at this film as this is the new generation," the director said. "This is how we get down, this is what we do, and it's okay to love it. It's okay to revamp and expose the next generation to the same vibe that they participated in."
House Party comes to theaters on January 13, 2023. Watch the film's officialtrailer below.
