Wayne Brady Cast as Gravedigger in CW's 'Black Lightning'
Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke...a metahuman?
The CW's Black Lightning series has landed its Gravedigger.
According to Deadline, comedian Wayne Brady will be strapping up to portray the DC Comics supervillain early next year. Currently in its third season, Black Lightning exists somewhat adjacent to the network's various comic book shows in the "Arrowverse," but occasionally bleads in during CW's crossover events.

Brady's role is reportedly a recurring one. His character will be based on the revived Gravedigger of 2008's Checkmate run, where lab-enhanced super-soldier, Tyson Sykes, opts to found his own sovereign nation for metahumans instead of living in post-war segregation.
Prior to signing on with the series, Brady was the host of Let's Make a Deal following years of appearances on the live improv show, Whose Line Is It, Anyway? He also infamously appeared on Chappelle's Show as a maniacal version of himself, hijacking the sketch show for an episode.
Black Lightning airs Mondays at 9pm EST on the CW. Catch up on the previous seasons via Hulu today.
