For the First Time Ever Nas is One of the Richest Rappers on Forbes' Cash Kings List
Queens get the money
On Wednesday, September 12th, Forbes released their annual Hip-Hop Cash Kings for 2018. Like previous years, JAY-Z took the number one spot, netting $76 million, followed by Diddy, who took home $64 million. (This is according to Forbes' reporting, which has been disputed by some rappers in the past.)
However, there was a new name on the list: legendary rapper Nas. who took home $35 million. According to Forbes, Nas, who is 44, took home that number because Amazon bought the virtual doorbell company Ring for $1.1 billion. (When that story came out, it was reported that Nas made $40 million from that sale. Something Forbes is disputing.)

The publication said Nas also took in a good amount from touring, streaming, and his Hennessey endorsement. Forbes did a profile on the rapper. About his new entrepreneurial spirit, Nas said:
I was music guy for years, and then all of a sudden its like I hit an age I guess it was just the age, or just wisdom...Felt like nows the time.
Riveting.
