Jamie Foxx, Wanda Sykes, & Kerry Washington to Appear in live remake of 'The Jeffersons'

Norman Lear's sitcom All In The Family aired from 1971 to 1979; the show's spin-off series, The Jeffersons, began in 1975 and ran through 1985. For over a decade, characters such as George and Louise Jefferson and Archie and Edith Bunker were fan favorites. On Wednesday, May 22nd, these memorable characters will return to television thanks to Sony Pictures Television's latest live special, Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear's All in the Family and The Jeffersons.

Jamie Foxx has been recruited to portray George Jefferson, with Wanda Sykes taking on the role of Louise. The couple's neighbors, and the first interracial couple to be featured on American primetime television, Tom and Helen Willis, will be played by Will Ferrell and Kerry Washington, respectively. Woody Harrelson and Marisa Tomei will make appearances as All in the Family's the Bunkers, with Anthony Anderson, Jackée Harry, Sean Hayes, and more in other roles.
Live in Front of a Studio Audience has a long list of executive producers, including Jimmy Kimmel, Brent Miller, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Justin Theroux, and of course Norman Lear himself.
The live special will air on ABC during a primetime slot at 8:00 p.m. EST.
