While promoting his upcoming film Bad Boys for Life alongside co-star Martin Lawrence, Smith was asked by Charlamagne Tha God if he was ever jealous of the love his wife had for Tupac.
"Oh, f**k yeah," Smith replied. "That was a big regret for me too because I could never open up to interact with Pac."
"She just loved him. He was the image of perfection but she was with the Fresh Prince," he continued. "Even we were in the room a couple times, I couldn't speak to him. And he wasn't going to speak to me if I wasn't going to speak to him."
"That was a huge regret of mine," Smith added. "I couldn't handle it, you know? I was the soft rapper from Philly and he was Pac. I was deeply insecure and wasn't man enough to handle that relationship."
Elsewhere in the interview, Smith and Lawrence discussed their respective sitcoms, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Martin, and which one they consider to be better than the other. The latter also talked about wanting to impress the late James Avery, which came about during their memorable dad scene on the Fresh Prince.
