Will Smith & Martin Lawrence Announce Fourth 'Bad Boys' Movie
On Tuesday, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence went to social media to announce the fourth installment of long-running film series Bad Boys.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are back in effect. On Tuesday (January 31), the duo took to social media with a 2-minute clip announcing that the fourth installment of Bad Boys 4 is in pre-production. Like the 2020 installment of the Smith an Lawrence comedy-action flick, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah returning to direct from a script by Chris Bremner.
In the announcement clip, Smith is seen driving to Lawrence's house.
“I’ve got an announcement. Y’all gotta stop scrolling," Smith says before he plays “Shake Ya Tailfeather,” Nelly, P. Diddy and Murphy Lee’s song from the 2003 Bad Boys II soundtrack.
Arriving at Lawrence's house, the two declare that a fourth film is official. Last March, rumors arose that Smith would not return for another Bad Boys following the now-infamous 2022 Oscars showdown between him and Chris Rock. In May, Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman disputed those reports, per Deadline.
“There weren’t any brakes to pump because the car wasn’t moving,” said Rothman. “That was a very unfortunate thing that happened, and I don’t think it’s really my place to comment, except to say that I’ve known Will Smith for many years, and I know him to be a good person. That was an example of a very good person having a very bad moment, in front of the world. I believe his apology and regret is genuine, and I believe in forgiveness and redemption.”
