Jaden Smith, Diddy, & More React to Will Smith Oscars Smack
After Will Smith smacked Chris Rock during the 2022 Oscars, Jaden Smith, Drake and more went online and hilariously shared their reactions.
The slap heard around the world made its way through social media last night. After Will Smith smacked Chris Rock for making a joke towards Jada Pinkett-Smith at last night's Academy Awards, celebrities went to social media and reacted to the incident.
Son Jaden Smith gave kudos to his Academy Award-winning father. "And That’s How We Do It," Jaden tweeted.
Diddy, who attended the ceremony claimed that the beef between Rock and Smith ended immediately following the incident. “That’s not a problem. That’s over. I can confirm that," Diddy according to Page Six. “It’s all love. They’re brothers.”
During the 94th Academy Awards, Rock made a joke referencing Pinkett-Smith's alopecia, which she was diagnosed with in 2018.
“Jada I love you, ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ can’t wait to see it,” Rock quipped.
The camera then panned to Pinkett-Smith, who rolled her eyes at Rock’s joke, and her husband didn't hesitate to approach Rock on-stage. Smith smacked Rock before returning to his seat and telling the comedian to “leave my wife’s name out of your fuckking mouth.”
Despite the onstage chaos, it looks like Rock decided not to press charges, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Nearly thirty minutes following the incident, Smith won his first Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Richard Williams in 2021 film King Richard. In his speech, the actor subtly referenced smacking Rock.
“Art imitates life. I look like the crazy father, just like they said about Richard Williams. But love will make you do crazy things,” Smith said during his acceptance speech.
