Willow Smith's New Track Will Have You Packing Your Bags For Mecca
Willow Smith's progression as a vocalist, arranger, songstress and all-out musical maven over the last few years has been nothing short of staggering. Just two weeks ago she visualized the buoyant, carefree number "F Q C #7" with a surreal and scenic video clip. And today, she's given the masses yet another taste of her still boundless artistic evolution with the feathery, bass-loaded loosie "WEEPINGWILOUGH/LETSGOTOMECCA" featuring what may be a familiar voice in former collaborator Mecca Kalaniand producer Daniel D'Artiste, who has put in work with big bro rather recently on his This Is The Album EP. The heiress to Bel Air shines bright on this minimal, cooled-out joint, supremely layering her breathy vox over Kalani's on a track that booms brilliantly from the bottom and rises to a lovely, swooning peak. While Smith has been prolific in her release cycle as of late, she's yet to package any of her latest cuts into a full-length or even half-length piece. Who knows if that day will ever come, but if the hits keep churning out like this, there may never be a need. Lose yourself in Willow Smith's "WEEPINGWILOUGH/LETSGOTOMECCA" and stay tuned for the next episode in the saga.
