Ye Releases XXXTentacion Collaboration "True Love"
To accompany the release of new XXXTentacion Hulu documentary Look At Me: XXXTentacion, Ye released their new collaboration "True Love."
The DONDA 2 rollout is far from over. On Friday, "True Love" a collaboration between the late XXXTentacionand Ye was released to streaming services to coincide with the release of Sabaah Folayan-directed Hulu documentary Look At Me: XXXTentacion which released on Thursday. Also featured on Ye's latest album DONDA 2, "True Love" can be heard at the end of the Hulu documentary and will also be on X's posthumous Look At Me: The Album.
Produced by Ye, Mike Dean, Ojivolta and John Cunningham, Ye reflects on fatherhood, his marriage to Kim Kardashian while seemingly giving a shout out to X's son, Gekyume Onfroy, saying "Daddy's not gone."
X's estate shared a statement on his Instagram story to promote his Hulu documentary.
"To Jahseh's amazing fans. We appreciate the love and support tremendously. We appreciate the patience as a large part of [the documentary] was done during a global pandemic. We always knew that Jahseh's story would change and save lives globally."
X was killed at 20-years-old on June 18, 2018 outside of RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield, Florida in an apparent robbery. Ye spoke about X in a now-deleted tweet on the day of his death, saying, "rest in peace. I never told you how much you inspired me when you were here. thank you for existing."
X last collaborated with Ye on "One Minute" from his 2018 posthumous album Skins.
