Yebba Unleashes New Single From Upcoming Album "Distance" Featuring The Roots

The soul singer's last release was last August's single, "Where Do You Go."

Yebba has unveiled “Distance” her newest single off of her forthcoming debut studio album. 

“Distance” was co-written by the West Memphis, Arkansas native, and was produced by Mark Ronson and the soul singer. It was recorded with The Roots and Pino Palladino. The track is a lush listen featuring her signature voice. 

At just 25 years old, Yebba has become an acclaimed vocalist due to her unforgettable sound. When speaking on “Distance,” Yebba shared it was inspired by the feeling she had when she knew a relationship was ending. 

She also added,  “Emotionally, physically, and spiritually we were trying, but the only thing that came naturally was the distance. So I wrote a goodbye before we ever got the chance to fight.”

“Distance” is her latest release following “Where Do You Go” which arrived in August 2019. At the 2019 Grammy Awards, Yebba alongside PJ Morton won her first Grammy for their track “How Deep Is Your Love.” Last year she appeared on a trio of songs on Mark Ronson’s album Late Night Feelings. Yebba also was featured on Stormzy’s album Heavy Is The Head and The Robert Glasper Experience’s most Fuck Yo Feelings mixtape on the title track. 

Yebba released her first single back in 2016, “Evergreen” which came after her video for “My Mind.” In the past, she’s also performed alongside A Tribe Called Quest, Chance the Rapper and Sam Smith. 

At the moment there’s no word yet on a release date for her debut album. Listen to “Distance” below.
