Your Old Droog Waxes Nostalgic On The Lighthearted Loosie "Basketball & Seinfeld"
Your Old Droogis, without any question, on the path to greatness. Over a broad spectrum of sonic suites, the no-longer enigmatic Coney Island native has proven his pen to be as sharp as any. So sharp, in fact, that upon his introduction, the masses actually thought he was Nas(though this writer has long pegged his voice as kin to The Game's burly baritone.) In any case, the years since that introduction have been beyond fruitful, gracing us with two hard-knocking EPs and a self-titled full-length that stand as big, bold bullet points on a constantly expanding resume.
Today, he puts yet another heater into the world with the light-hearted and nostalgic loosie "Basketball & Seinfeld," which, no surprise here, toasts to the easier days, when all you needed was a game, a few reruns of George, Jerry, Cosmo and Elaine's shenanigans and an L in-hand as the herbal cherry on top. For many of us, those days may be long gone, but Droog's work over a retro-set beat (which in itself nods to the Fab Four of sitcom TV) should be a fine trip down memory lane. Hit play and keep your ear to the ground for more from Your Old Droog.
