Aloe Blacc Returns To Hip-Hop Roots On New Emanon Album 'Dystopia' With Exile
Emanon is back. The duo, which consists of Aloe Blacc and Exile, just dropped a new project. Their last was 2005's The Waiting Room. The new album is titled Dystopia and runs ten tracks long. The project features guest verses from Blu and Cashus King. The duo, which go way back, have released five previous project. Their first was 1996's Imaginary Friends. Other Emanon projects include 1998's Acid 9 and 2001's Steps Through Time. There was also 2002's Anon & On and the aforementioned The Waiting Room. On Dystopia, Aloe Blacc is back to rapping, picking up where he left off with lyrical grace. Blacc's bars touch on social issues, police violence, the dubious US Army School of the Americas, and much, much more. As usual, Exile comes through with the excellent production he has become known for. In recent years, Aloe Blacc has been known for his singing through the soul/r&b projects Good Things and Lift Your Spirit. Stream Emanon's new project Dystopia via Soundcloud below.
