Kamaiyah and Trina Link Up for "Set it Up," the Second Single from 'Got it Made'
Kamaiyah revealed her new project's release date on Twitter Monday afternoon.
After a lengthy absence from the rap game, Oakland MC Kamaiyah has returned in style. On Monday, she revealed the title of her upcoming project, as well as its artwork and release date. Shortly thereafter, she dropped the first single, "Set it Up" featuring the legendary Diamond Princess, Trina.
Kamaiyah released her last full-length project, Before I Wake, in November 2017. Since then, she appeared in XXL's 2017 Freshman Class and alongside LeBron James in a Sprite commercial.

In mid-December, Kamaiyah released "Still I Am." The track will also appear on Got it Made. Previously, she appeared alongside YG and G-Eazy on "Do Not Disturb," from YG's latest album 4Real 4Real. She planned to release a project titled Woke as a companion project to Before I Wake in 2018. However, the project never materialized.
"This past year has been extremely hard for me," Kamaiyah explained on Instagram. "I lost my brother to cancer and went through extreme depression. Creatively I felt trapped with my project being held up due to samples. I lost my way and decided to take initiative by recording and putting together music for my fans all on my own because I felt it was time. Thank you for everyone who has been patient, this is only the beginning.”

Kamaiyah's latest project, Got it Made, arrives February 21. The project comes nearly four full years after her critically-acclaimed debut, A Good Night in the Ghetto. That year, she provided the hook for YG and Drake's "Why You Always Hatin?" The track peaked at number 15 on the Billboard US Rhythmic chart.
"Set it Up" and Before I Wake are available on all major streaming platforms.
