The Based God's "FIRST VENTURE INTO HIP HOP" has arrived
It's an all-caps moment, ladies and gentlemen. After seven long years of teasing with an instantly-iconic cover, Lil B has released his "first official mixtape," Black Ken.

Featuring a lone guest appearance from ILoveMakonnen, the dynamic 27-track project is entirely produced by the Based God himself and though he claims it to be his first, B's released two buzz-building mixtapes with Bay Area group, The Pack, in the mid-2000's. He'd find success as a solo act and internet rap deity in the following decade as a polarizing figure, equal parts glowing optimism and polarizing web-savvy spectacle, with various digital albums, including his debut studio album, Rain In England in 2010. He also released a mixtape with Chance The Rapper, dubbed a "masterpiece" by both parties. So the math is weird, but the mixtape's a surprisingly thorough exposition of roughly two decades in west coast rap. And it arrives a day early, following a very predictable Dat Piff leak.
