Lupe Fiasco Returns To Form on Introspective New Single "Coulda Been"
In the months since its release, Lupe Fiasco has done just about everything within his power to erase the memory of his new album from the collective consciousness. Photo-op in traditional Japanese garb wielding a samurai sword? Check. Self-deprecating review of DROGAS Lite with little if anything good to say about your own album? Check.
His best distractions, as always, have been new cuts. The first was a Colin Kaepernick tribute titled "Kneelin' on Needles," and today the Chicago rapper returns with another, releasing the introspective new single "Coulda Been," where Fiasco recounts the copious occupational outcomes of a life not dedicated to music over soulful strings and wah-wah guitar strums. If we're to hold him to his word, two more albums are on the way. But that's if he doesn't go and quit music again for a couple of weeks. Hear the latest from Lupe Fiasco in this week's installment of The Round-Up below. He's on the road this month and next, the dates for which are listed beneath the player.
