'Nasimoto' is The Nas and Madlib Mash-Up Project You've Always Wanted In Your Life
As the world awaits the return of the Madlib/Freddie Gibbs union, another rap heavyweight has been paired with the weird and wild sounds of the Beat Konducta. Just last year, Nas and his Mass Appeal Records imprint helped usher J Dilla's long-lost-but-now-found vocal album, The Diary, into the world with a grip of extraordinary selectors in tow. There the Queens legend graced the cut "The Sickness," produced by Stones Throw's original production powerhouse.
Now a new mash-up project from New Hampshire's D Begun joins Nas and Madlib in unholy union. Nasimoto is a 21-track salute to two of the greatest to ever do it, painting Nasir's classic flows over a broad stroke of Madlib's Quasimoto productions. You can hear Nasimoto for free down below. Rumor has it Nas's follow-up to 2012's The Good Life is just around the corner and MadGibbs' Pinata sequel has just been completed (along with two other albums from Freddie Gibbs.) Hopefully, this'll hold you over until one of the two surfaces. You can revisit J Dilla's The Diary on iTunes today, or head over to The Shop to scoop a copy on vinyl.
