The Round-Up: 23 New Songs You Need To Hear From Chris Dave, Minke, Gavin Turek and More
It's been another weird week in the western world. Brooklyn's gone from springtime tease to ice-pop in the time it took Remy Ma to aim yet another heater at Nicki Minaj, no retaliation in sight. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is apparently guilty of the same public email server misstep as a certain demonized 2x left-wing presidential candidate that may or may not have won the popular vote by roughly 3,000,000. But hey, we move on. And with no shortage of assistance from the healing and refocusing energies of some of the week's best sounds.
Whereas as last week's haul was inundated with new flame from Thundercat, Future, Karriem Riggins, Oddisee and Steve Lacy (all having released albums last Friday,) this seven-day stretch is of an entirely different seed. This week's Round-Up is anchored by stand-out singles from Chris Dave & The Drumhedz, Tuxedo, Jamie Isaac, Jimi Tents, Mike Will Made It, dotted with atmospherics, courtesy of Salt Cathedral, Khalid and Minke ("Gold Angel" is dangerously-addictive indie-pop that'll grip your heart for a night or twelve.)
You'll also find a collection of cuts from Gavin Turek, Earl St. Clair and Ronald Bruner Jr. off their new projects. Dive into the week's best cuts in The Round-Up below and subscribe to our Spotify for more selections.
