Thelonious Martin Drops New Tape 'A Dozen For Dilla'
Chicago born producerThelonious Martinis back with a new batch of beats. The new tape, titled A Dozen For Dilla, was released on what would have been the late G.O.A.T's 43rd birthday. J Dilla passed away on February 10, 2006. A Dozen For Dilla runs (you guessed it) twelve tracks long. Martin posted the project to Soundcloud with a short note that reads: "Happy birthday James Dewitt Yancey. You are the greatest to ever do it and my greatest influence." Last year Martin released the EPs U4ME and Static. Martin also dropped the full length project Late Night Programming. Last month Martin linked with Saga to drop the track "Yesterday" featuring Fashawn. Saga and Martin also announced a collaborative project titled Molotov. The project should be out later this month. Previous to "Yesterday" the duo dropped the track "Infomercial (Freestyle)." To help celebrate the birthday of Dilla we compiled a very large list of tracks sampled by the legendary Detroit producer.
