"I Am Human": Ayesha Curry Responds To Criticism Over Her 'Red Table Talk' Interview
Source: Facebook
Curry's admission of insecurity and dealing with Stephen's fans and groupies divided many on social media earlier this week.
Ayesha Curry took to Instagram to address the reaction to her appearance on Jada Pinkett Smith's Facebook show, Red Table Talk.
"I have never been one to cage my feelings and emotions to any capacity. I am human. It brings me pure joy to speak my mind, be vulnerable at times and to know myself inside and out," Curry wrote on Instagram. "If what I'm not afraid to say out loud about being a 30yr mama of 3 helps another woman like me feel like they're not the alone and not the only one with an insecurity (because we ALL have them, don't play) then that makes all of this hoopla worth it."
The entrepreneur appeared on the show Monday and discussed everything from having doubts and insecurities about herself when she doesn't receive attention from men, to dealing with Stephen's fans and groupies.
"Stephen is very nice by nature. And he's very talkative...Obviously, you know the devil is a liar the ladies will always be lurking, hoping for their moment and waiting. You need to be aware of that," Curry said. "I honestly hate it...We had the conversation about it and he tries really, really hard if we're going somewhere, he's introduced me. I don't like to have to introduce myself."
"Something that really bothers me, and honestly has given me a sense of a little bit of an insecurity, is the fact that yeah, there are all these women, like, throwing themselves (at him), but me, like the past 10 years, I don't have any of that," she later admitted. "I have zero – this sounds weird – but, like, male attention, and so then I begin to internalize it, and I'm like, 'Is something wrong with me? I don't want it, but it would be nice to know that someone's looking."
Following the interview, some people on social media took to joking about Curry's comments, while others were upset with her.

A handful of users were more supportive though.

“Ayesha Curry was vulnerable about insecurities folks deal with daily.

I call that brave. We can choose to accept invitation to discuss the ways our socialization damages confidence.

Confidence is essential to success, yet we damage it in women daily. That’s the discussion.”— brittany packnett cunningham. (@brittany packnett cunningham.) 1557247211
“Ayesha was honest, open, and vulnerable about herself, her marriage, and the (very real) possibility of her very famous, very wealthy, very fine husband cheating—and that makes her a “pick me?” Words mean things. We can’t apply them as we please to people we dislike.”— Evette Dionne (@Evette Dionne) 1557241850
