This Thursday (June 8) our very own Okay Space will be hosting the work of founding Bad Brains member, Darryl Jenifer.
Titled "Mind Power," the exhibition will feature original works on canvas by Jenifer, many of which are inspired by Jenifer's contributions to Bad Brains, serving as the seminal hardcore punk band's bassist.
"Mind Power is the power of the mind; yes it was the first name of Bad Brains," Jenifer said in a press release. "The art show is called Mind Power because I feel it is a strong positive protector to banner a Bad Brains family event."

Along with Jenifer's pieces will be inspired works from Shepard Fairey, as well as Bad Brains photography from Lucian Perkins, John Mousheghian, and Craig Wetherby. Expect a very intimate and special performance from Jenifer and friends but don't get your hopes up about a Bad Brains reunion — it hasn't been confirmed.
RSVP to the opening reception taking place Thursday, June 8, 7-10pm at the Okay Space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (281 North 7th Street), below. Join the Facebook event here. A special edition beer will be provided by Lost Coast Brewery and wine by Bed-Vyne Wine.
A limited edition "Brain Storm" print is available for purchase prior to the event. The first 20 people to present proof of purchase will have guaranteed entrance into the show.
