The 12-minute discussion between the pair was taken at Detroit's the TEN Nail Bar, and finds them talking about police brutality, health insurance, eliminating student debt and more.

"I'm trying to advocate the youth in my community because I feel like there's a serious problem right now in America. We have this bully right now as the president and the only way to take him out is somebody winning," Cardi says to Sanders.

"We've got to get rid of Donald Trump, obviously, because Donald Trump is an overt racist," Sanders responds. "He's way out there."

From there, the discussion shifts to police brutality.

"I don't want people thinking that that we're trying to attack the police because let me tell you, there was this one time that I started to feel like 'I hate the police, they're pigs.' But there's a lot of cops that go in their jobs and they want to protect people," Cardi says in one scene.

"So we need police departments that look like the communities they serve and we get rid of a lot of this militarization of the police department," Sanders replies.

Elsewhere, the pair also discuss health insurance and eliminating the student debt. Sanders ends the chat with encouraging young people to get more involved in politics.

"A lot of people moan and groan, right? They don't like Donald Trump, they don't like the low wages, they don't like spending 50 percent of their income on housing, they don't like student debt, they don't like the fact that they can't go to college...But that doesn't mean anything unless we change the system," Sanders says. "Young people have got to get involved in the political process..Trump does not want people of color to participate in the political process. Participate in the political process."
