After months of speculation -- and even a leaked release date -- Netflix has finally unveiled the trailer for Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.
READ: Atlanta, Rick and Morty, and Black Mirror, Win Big at Early Emmy's Ceremony
Set in 1984, the trailer immediately breaks from the series' painfully close to real-life dystopias, harking back to the days of 8-bit graphics and grey anvil computers. It centers on an obsessive programmer adapting a novel into a video game, and the brain-busting terror that follows. Little else is known of the plot, but in literature, Bandersnatch was a creature of "furious" and "fuming" temperament that first materialized in Lewis Carroll's 1874 novel, Through The Looking-Glass (the sequel to Alice In Wonderland.) The film stars Fionn Whitehead, Will Poulter, and Asim Chaudhry, in Black Mirror's first cinematic offshoot.
Watch the trailer above (featuring a pair of easter egg references to old Black Mirror episodes.) There's still no word on whether this will be a choose-your-own-adventure film or a standardly linear structure, but you can tune in tomorrow to find out.
