'Black Panther' is Tracking to Make Over $100 Million Over its Opening Weekend

The Black Panther numbers are going to be crazy
Black Panther hasn't been released yet. But the movie is already a success.
The tracking info for the movie has just been released, and it's off the charts. According to Deadline, the movie is guaranteed to take in $100 million over its four day opening weekend. In fact, there are some tracking services who are saying that the album could make upward of $150 million over the opening weekend.

To put those numbers in some context: the huge Fox hit Deadpool holds the record for a February release, raking in $152 million over President's Day weekend in 2016.

According to survey information, 49% of African Americans say Black Panther is their first choice for the movie they want to see that weekend. While 26% Hispanics and 21% Caucasians say that's their first choice.
Marvel's Black Panther drops on February 16. That date can't get here fast enough.
