'Chappelle's Show' is Headed to Netflix and HBO Max This Weekend

The revered sketch comedy show is making the jump to two new streamers in just a few days.

Chappelle's Showis broadening its streaming presence over the coming weekend.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, all two-and-a-half seasons of Chappelle's Show are slated to land on both Netflix and HBO Max in just a few days as part of a recently-inked non-exclusive licensing deal with Comedy Central that will bring several of the channel's titles to the streamers, (presumably to cushion the collective anxiety surrounding Election Day,) including Key & Peele, Nathan For You, Inside Amy Schumer, and the original run of Reno 911.

The series will be available to stream as of November 1st, joining several collections of Chappelle's resurgent (Grammy-and-Emmy-winning) stand-up specials on Netflix, which have been released every few years since 2016. The show has been exclusively available to stream via Comedy Central and Hulu for years up until this point. Chappelle's latest special, 8:46was released in the wake of George Floyd's murder by a police officer in Minneapolis in late May and is currently available to stream for free on Youtube. Clocking in at just shy of 30-minutes-long, the special was poignant and sobering, albeit slightly abbreviated.

8:46 was recorded at one of Chappelle's pop-up stand-up events in Yellow Springs, OH, where the comedian hosted semi-weekly retreats for fellow stand-ups under strict COVID-19 protocols throughout the summer. However, the events were halted last month after a member of the crew tested positive for the virus. But not even a close call with COVID is keeping Chappelle from the stage. According to brooklynveganthe comedian is set to perform at a pair of sold-out shows in Atlanta this weekend.

You can watch Netflix's announcement video for Chappelle's Show's upcoming jump below. Tune in on November 1st to run through the whole series on either streamer.
