Titled My First Black Boyfriend, the book will "point out things that maybe need to be pointed out in our crazy world," Deb Futter, the senior vice president and co-publisher of Celadon (which is publishing the book), said to the New York Times.

"A lot of celebrities write books, and they don't always have something to say. I think Chris Rock has something to say," Futter also said. My First Black Boyfriend is set to drop some time in fall 2020.

Several months ago, it was announced that Rock was going to reboot the Saw franchise with a new story that is being adapted as the next film in the series.

"I've been a fan of Saw since the first film in 2004. I am excited by the opportunity to take this to a really intense and twisted new place," Rock said at the time.

The film's release is slated for October 23, 2020. The last film to be released in the series was 2017’s Jigsaw.
