Lovers and Friends Festival Officially Cancelled Due to Coronavirus

The Lovers & Friends Festival Has Been Pushed Back Due to the Coronavirus

Eudns4wuyaauuebThe Lovers & Friends Festival will take place this summer in Los Angeles.

In the wake of Omarion and Bow Wow's Millennium tour, it's no surprise that nostalgia has made its way to the festival circuit. On Tuesday, February 18th, Goldenvoice, the organizers of the Coachella festival, unveiled its lineup for the Lovers & Friends Festival. View the full lineup above.

The festival will be held at the Grounds at Dignity Health Sports Park. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 21 at 10 a.m. Pacific time. Presale tickets go on sale on February 20 at 10 a.m. PST. Log onto the festival's official website to access presale tickets. General admissions tickets start at $145 before fees. The festival is also offering VIP and Super VIP ticket packages starting at $230 and $450, respectively.

The festival was supposed to happen on Saturday, May 9th. However, due to the  2019 coronavirus (COVID-19), the festival was pushed back to Saturday, August 8th. Lovers and Friends will be a one-day festival.

The festival includes rising stars like Megan thee Stallion, Jhene Aiko, and Summer Walker. However, the headliners — Ms. Lauryn Hill, Usher, Ludacris, Lil Jon, and TLC — will be performing fan favorites from the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The lineup features Grammy winners and one-hit wonders with hit records that span nearly three decades of hip-hop and R&B. Montell Jordan, Nina Sky, Baby Bash, and T-Pain will perform. Ginuwine, Twista, Next, and 112 are slated as well. The critically-acclaimed DJ collective Soulection Radio will provide sounds between concert sets.

Ja Rule and Fat Joe will hit the stage, as well as Trina, Tweet, Dru Hill, and Amerie. Some of these acts have tense histories. (For example Brandy and Monica will hit the stage.)

In fact, when the lineup was announced in February there was some controversy. Lil Kim went to her Instagram and told her fans that this was "fake news" and that she would not be performing at the Lovers & Friends festival.

But then rejoined the Lovers & Friends Festival a couple of days later thanks to Snoop Dogg (and the fact that the check cleared.)
