D.L. Hughley Tests Positive for COVID-19 After Collapsing During Stand-Up Set
The comedian passed out while performing at a club in Nashville Friday night.
D.L. Hughley is responsive and recuperating following a scary on-stage episode earlier this week.
On Friday night, the comedian was hospitalized after collapsing mid-performance during a set at Zanies Comedy Club in Nashville. A video of the incident quickly began making rounds on social media. Saturday night, Hughley calmed the concerns of fans and fellow comedians in a video posted to Twitter.
In the clip, a visibly shaken Hughley confirms that after being treated for dehydration and exhaustion, doctors ran a round of tests revealing he'd turned up positive for COVID-19, but was likely asymptomatic. The comedian expressed his gratitude for those checking in on him and sending wishes. "In addition to all the other stuff you have to look out for, if your ass passes out in the middle of a show onstage, you probably need to get tested," Hughley says in the video. He intends to quarantine for two weeks at a nearby hotel.
