Dave Chappelle Books Two Las Vegas Tour Dates, One With Joe Rogan
Dave Chappelle is set to perform on July 2nd and July 9th a tthe MGM Grand.
On Wednesday, Dave Chappelle announced two tour dates set for July at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Dave Chappelle and Friends will be held July 2nd, while Chappelle will team up with Joe Rogan for a show a week later.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 23rd at 10 AM Pacific Standard Time. As has been the case during Chappelle's recent tours, the events have a no cell phone policy. According to the release, everyone in attendance is subject to pat down and wanding. Anyone caught with a cell phone inside the venue will be immediately ejected.
Chappelle has been doing socially-distanced shows since back in June. His recent shows in Austin, Texas have required testing, masks, and social distancing, though it doesn't seem that these measures will be taken at the Las Vegas venues.
The announcement comes after Rogan sparked backlash by suggesting that "healthy" young listeners shouldn't get the COVID-19 vaccine.
"Should I get vaccinated," he said, "I go, 'no.' Are you healthy? Are you a healthy person? If you're a healthy person and you're exercising all the time and you're young and you're eating well, I don't think you need to worry about this."
Chappelle recently announced The Midnight Miracle podcast with Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli. The series will feature sketches, impersonations and archival audio. The Midnight Miracle will be hosted on the subscription-based podcast platform Luminary in the coming weeks.
