Dave Chappelle, Talib Kweli & Yasiin Bey's 'The Midnight Miracle' Podcast Is Coming To Vinyl
Two fan-favorite episodes of Dave Chappelle, Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey-hosted Luminary podcast The Midnight Miracle are coming to vinyl.
Ohio's own Dave Chappelle, Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey-hosted podcast The Midnight Miracle is getting the vinyl treatment. On Tuesday (August 16), the podcast's platform Luminary announced that fans in the U.S. could purchase a vinyl edition of the show paired with an annual subscription. At $50, the vinyl features fan-favorite episodes “The Grift That Keeps on Giving” on Side A and “LL’s Check” on Side B.
The podcast was launched in 2020 when Chappelle began hosting his cornfield shows at Wirrig Pavilion in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Along with conversations between Chappelle, Kweli and Bey, the podcast also features a selection of curated music. Kweli and Bey, who are also members of rap duo Black Star, released their long-awaited sophomore album No Fear of Time in May, last performing at Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa Valley in Jult. Also at the festival, the show recorded its first audience-assisted episode.
Like the vinyl edition of The Midnight Miracle, No Fear of Time can be streamed on Luminary with an annual subscription.
In a statement, Luminary CEO Rishi Maholtra shared details about the vinyl release, which focuses on expanding Luminary's platform.
“Our view is that great audio experiences deserve to be translated beyond digital, into live performances and preserved in physical formats. … Great art always transcends mediums,” Maholtra said.
A second season of The Midnight Miracle is slated to debut on Luminary later this year.
