Zazie Beetz will star alongside Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin as Domino in Deadpool 2.

Today, Reynolds released a picture of Beetz as the Marvel Comics character on his Twitter with the caption "Some people just know how to work a red carpet."

For those unfamiliar, Domino is an adept markswoman with various firearms and has extensive training in various armed combat techniques and martial arts. She is often associated with the X-Force as the group's lieutenant but is occasionally a member of the X-Men, as well as a love interest of Cable (who Brolin will be portraying).

Beetz has risen to prominence thanks to her appearance in Donald Glover's Atlanta TV series where she portrays Vanessa "Van," the girlfriend of Earnest (portrayed by Glover).

Although Reynolds' post has received some opposition from those that want a "comic accurate Domino," many have voiced their support of the casting and the way that the comic book character is being reimagined. Initially, it was rumored that Janelle Monae would portray Domino but that obviously is no longer the case. Reynolds had revealed that Beetz was cast as the character in a Twitter post back in March.

Deadpool 2 hits theaters June 1, 2018. Also coming next year is an animated Deadpool series by Glover. He, along with his brother Stephen, will be working on an animated Deadpool series for FX's sister channel FXX. The Glover brothers will serve as showrunners, executive producers, and writers of the series, while Marvel's Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will serve as executive producers.
